Drilling clamps:
Used as a pair, these clamps allow
one to drill pin holes at right angles into uneven handle materials when
making full tang knives.
Bolster alignment
clamps:
Two parallel bars fitted with guide
pins. Used when drilling holes in bolsters for pinning, and for aligning
bolsters or to draw lines on knife tangs where the lines should be in the
same place on both sides of the knife.
Swivel Blade clamp:
This is a homemade device; two split
pipes, one inside the other, with two half round wooden blocks inside. Two
flanges on the outer pipe with a bolt allow one to tighten it up, on the
opposite side of the flanges is a steel square, allowing one to hold the
clamp in a bench vice. The inner pipe protrudes slightly and has a handle
welded on, allowing one to turn the blade. One can have the tang clamped,
allowing you to work on the blade, or one can clamp the blade to work on the
tang or handle.
